Bucket Filling
Learning Target: I can be a bucket filler and I can help others be bucket fillers too.
We learn about bucket filling in Life Skills. We learn that everyone carries an invisible bucket. When their bucket is full, they are happy, but when their bucket is empty, they are sad. We can fill other's bucket's by using kind words and actions, smiling at someone, sharing, including others, and simply saying hello. Every time we fill a bucket, our own bucket fills up too! We talked about ideas to fill either a classmate's bucket or our teacher's bucket after reading the book, Have You Filled A Bucket Today? You can follow up at home by asking your child to share one thing they did today that filled up someone else's bucket. Ask them if anyone did anything that filled theirs. Finally, you can share with them if anyone filled your bucket today! Continuing this conversation emphasizes self-reflection and appreciation.
